Did you eneter our recent comp to win free tickets for Toy Story 3? No? Why not you feckless dog?

Well, the STS office was inundated as literally some of you wrote in, shouting about Potatoes, all of you desperate to coagulate in London’s super-swanky Leicester Square this Sunday morning to catch the continuing adventures of Andy’s toybox a month early -and who can blame you?

We (well…me..it’s not like I have anything better to do…) rummaged through the pile of potato-based commentary and based on a strict selection criteria involving closing my eyes and pointing,  a winner emerged – congratulations Katie Richards!

Katie’s weird Kelis/Spud mashup caught our eye (like a potato has eyes- do you see? IT’S A JOKE!) :

MY POTATO BRINGS ALL THE BOYS TO THE YARD AND THEY’RE LIKE … ‘MY PARTS ARE KILLING ME!’

Katie and a friend/partner/pet/kidnapped farm animal get to head down to Leicester Square for a free matinee performance this very Sunday! Congrats and enjoy.

Christ we’re generous around here aren’t we? Although not quite as generous as the lovely dudes and dudettes at Disney who made this possible -give them a big up and join the Toy Story 3 facebook page! and don’t panic, I’m sure we’ll have some other free crap to hurl at you soon -cheers to everyone who entered!

Exclusive! – The Gathering Of 9

Those of you on the cutting edge of Steampunk – or indeed, those of you who enjoy post-apocalyptic children’s films produced by Tim Burton – will surely be looking forward to Shane Acker’s upcoming full length version of his award winning short 9, seen above.

Following the adventures of the eponymous rag doll as he tries to find his comrades, and put a stop to the evil, mechanical fabricator that’s wiped out most of life on Earth, it promises to be a visually stunning experience with a plot dark and twisting enough to ensnare anyone who sees it.

As you can guess, STS isn’t the only site looking forward to this; but we are one of a very select group with access to all sorts of goodies related to the movie, and maybe, just maybe, you can get your hands on some of them too!

Over the next few days, we’ll be posting a series of articles about the movie, including exclusive footage and an interview with lead voice and well known Hobbit Elijah Wood!

And that’s not all…

Courtesy of the genrous folks at Way To Blue and Focus Features, we’ll have some exclusive prizes and an internet-wide treasure hunt almost as difficult as 9’s own quest. Want to join in? Well, let’s start you off – we’re the first of a group involved in this project : Can you track down the others 8?

The numbers are out there – so go hunt them down!
