Looks like rejuvenating the 80s action genre with upcoming The Expendables isn’t enough for Sly, who’s been Jabbering to AINC about the continuing adventures of hard as nails pensioner Johnny R, and it looks like things will be taking quite a detour from Rambo’s brief delve into political expression.

The original leaked plot looked like more of the same, with the hulking vet sticking his oar into the murky world of human trafikking down Mexico way, so it was a big surprise when Sly announced not only a return to the focussed, one-on-one brutality of First Blood, but also the inclusion of “A Predator element”.

Seems the script’s been given a makeover, and now involves Rambo hunting down some government experiments/super soldiers gone wrong that have escaped from a military research base – the result of army brain-boxes tampering with THINGS MAN WAS NOT MEANT TO KNOW!!!

Could be bloody, brutal, and ridiculously cool-or could go straight to DVD hell.
