Director Noboru Iguchi has been quietly carving a niche for himself based on killer robots with weapons in unexpected places – and he continues the trend with RoboGeisha. Where Sukeban Boy boasted breast cannons this latest, a collaboration with Yoshihiro Nishimura – of Tokyo Gore Police infamy – introduces what the trailer describes as ‘Hip-Katanas’.
That’s arse-swords to you and me.
Gleefully insane, with appearances from giant robot office blocks, a geisha that turns into a tank and an inventive death scene involving a fried prawn through an eyesocket, it’s the STS much-watch of the month.

I don’t think you could stab someone through the eyes with prawns. They would mush up before the eyes.
Care to do a little Mythbusters style experiment?
I say they’d go in if they still had the tails on. Maybe if they were still frozen? You heard it here first, we are about to spend a weekend ramming seafood through a variety of animals. Here’s hoping the pet shop is well stocked.
Raw prawns, I’d agree but I’d have thought fried prawns (I’m assuming we mean deep-fried) would be notably less mushable. If you then also factor in tails I think you’ll find that prawns could be highly effective for eye-gouging and/or stabbing.
More broadly on the subject of seafood violence, I’ve always wanted to hit someone with a really big fish.
I think we can arrange that. I would like to see it.
